Enhancing care and support for families managing Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy.

Healthcare

Growth Strategies

Our project aimed to gain a comprehensive understanding of the journey that caregivers of patients with Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA) experience, from the onset of symptoms to the start of treatment. The objective was to identify barriers and challenges faced by these individuals, recognize their needs, and find opportunities to support families and encourage the adoption of a specialized formula.

Through our research, we uncovered crucial insights into the experiences of parents navigating the CMPA journey, including those utilizing public health systems and private medical coverage. Interviews with caregivers, along with consultations with pediatricians, allergists, and gastroenterologists, revealed the difficulties and delays that often occur before diagnosis. Understanding these pain points allowed us to pinpoint opportunities for intervention and improvement.

We conducted extensive in-depth interviews with caregivers of CMPA patients across various healthcare settings to gather detailed data on their experiences. This research helped us map out the patient journey, identifying key stages from symptom onset to diagnosis and treatment. Special focus was placed on the factors that contribute to delays before diagnosis, which directly impact patient discomfort and the timely initiation of treatment.

The insights from this research were synthesized into a detailed infographic representing the CMPA patient journey. This visual tool highlighted pain points and opportunities for enhancing the experience for both families and healthcare professionals.

The project delivered a comprehensive infographic and an in-depth report outlining the key findings and identified opportunities for improvement. We also facilitated co-creation sessions with the company's internal team to develop actionable initiatives aimed at addressing the pain points discovered.

These initiatives are designed to enhance the overall experience for caregivers and patients, ensuring more effective support and treatment. By translating our research findings into practical solutions, we helped the company better support families managing CMPA and improve their overall experience.
